Compensation and Benefits

The Compensation & Benefits Committee provides an opportunity for compensation and benefits professionals to gather and exchange information on best practices and new developments that help companies develop programs that are cost-effective, competitive and aligned with business strategy. This committee also monitors legislative and regulatory developments and recommends any appropriate gas utility involvement. This committee oversees the AGA Compensation Surveys and, in that role, ensures that the surveys are tailored to the changing needs of the industry.

Typical Committee Member

Human Resources managers and experienced professionals in the compensation and/or benefits function.

Benefits Of Committee Membership

Provides human resource professionals in the industry with: (1) an active role in the strategic development of industry-wide compensation and benefits policies, procedures, programs and practices; (2) the opportunity for increased professional knowledge of compensation and benefits practices at minimal cost through leading-edge presentations and lectures during committee meeting; (3) knowledge of industry's best practices through presentations and roundtable discussions; (4) opportunity to discuss survey design and industry positions included in the AGA compensation surveys.

Executive Compensation Survey, Managerial, Supervisory & Professional (MSP) Compensation Survey, Oversight of the SOS Program.

Interaction with other AGA Committees/Outside Organization

This committee interacts with the Human Resources Policy Committee. When appropriate, recommends legislative or regulatory initiatives to the Human Resources Policy Committee.

Meetings

A one and one-half day meeting will be held annually in the spring.
