Distribution Measurement
- Review and improve shop and field procedures for handling, testing and maintaining metering and associated equipment used on distribution system lines from the outlet of a transmission line gate station to the outlet of the metering installation of a customer.
- Provide guidelines for the design, management and operation of test and repair facilities for metering and associated equipment.
- Suggest methods, systems, procedures and techniques to collect, audit and transfer distribution measurement data for use as deemed necessary.
- Exchange information on the analysis of performance of metering and associated equipment, and the utilization of data.
- Investigate and review new technologies as related to areas of interest to the committee for industry awareness.
- Monitor and review regulations, legislations, codes and standards, which affect the industry and are within the committee’s scope of activities, and advise the Managing Committee of items of concern.
- Identify research priorities to enhance safe, reliable and cost-competitive delivery of natural gas.
- Sponsor programs, papers and presentations within the industry at related technical symposiums; maintain liaison with appropriate industry groups, professional associations, research organizations, and other committees for exchange of information and technical assistance relative to the concerned areas of interest.
- Develop and publish committee reports and technical papers, and provide liaison with and encourage liaison from appropriate national and international industry groups, professional associations and other committees for the exchange of information and technical assistance relative to areas of interest.

Products and ServicesThis committee prepared the draft of the Gas Service Regulator Standard for 14 inches water column and less, which has now been issued as an ANSI Standard B109.4. Working for preparation of a report on Sonic Nozzle Proving. A technical note on single path ultrasonic end user meter is under preparation. Prepare round table discussion papers on topics of interest to the members. Follow trends in automatic meter reading. Working on updating AGA Gas Measurement Manuals related to distribution measurements.
Interaction with other AGA Committees/Outside Organizations
This committee works closely with the Transmission Measurement Committee of AGA and provides input to the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) on gas measurement issues. Also coordinates with the Automatic Meter Reading Association (AMRA).
