Risk Management

The committee will identify and analyze emerging insurance risks that result from changes in operations of member companies, the introduction of new regulations or the development of legislative initiatives. The committee will evaluate and report to the membership meaningful risk management trends and practices that are employed within or outside of the natural gas industry. The committee will continue to act as liaison with vital insurance markets and related key stakeholders to influence pricing, capacity and the development of new products to meet current or evolving needs of the natural gas industry.

Benefits of Committee Membership

Influence of insurance markets regarding pricing, capacity and product development. Education of the domestic, Bermuda and London insurance markets as to natural gas industry exposures and operations.

Products and Services

Conduct, publish and review survey: Risk Management Survey - includes strategies, coverage details and corporate indemnification information regarding the risks faced by directors and officers.  Evaluations of technology and its use in risk management.  Identification of loss control methods for significant risks facing membership.  Conduct insurance forums for the education of insurance underwriters and brokers, as well as the exchange of information within the membership.

Interaction with other AGA Committees/Outside Organizations

The committee holds its annual meeting in conjunction with AEGIS, which allows greater participation of members and industry.  The committee is the association’s liaison with AEGIS and EIM
