Disaster Planning Workshop
June 25-26, 2013

With increased frequency of large-scale storms, hurricanes, flooding, other natural disasters and potential man-made disasters, the resources and approaches to disaster mitigation and system and service restoration is changing. What are some of the lessons learned and what improvements have been made from recent experiences? Emergency preparedness and business continuity planning is crucial to a timely response in the event of a disaster. This workshop will feature companies affected by natural disasters such as flooding, hurricane, tornados and earthquakes. Presentations will cover lessons learned from Superstorm Sandy and other major events and what companies can do to better prepare for a disaster, regional and national mutual assistance, communications, and logistical considerations after an event. The workshop will have three focus areas: Preparedness, Response Time Management and Training.
