Corrosion Issues Affecting Transmission & Distribution Integrity Management Workshop - January 30-31, 2012

This one-day workshop will update AGA members on recent pipeline safety issues that affect operators’ corrosion mitigation activities on transmission and distribution pipelines. In addition to corrosion-related regulatory updates, this workshop will feature presentations from operators successfully addressing corrosion challenges common in the industry and research organizations analyzing and implementing new corrosion mitigation technologies.
The Corrosion Issues Affecting Transmission & Distribution Integrity Management Workshop will be held January 30 – 31, 2012 at Duke Energy’s Ohio Office, Cincinnati, Ohio and is scheduled to begin Monday, January 30, at 1:00 pm. The workshop will begin with a welcome address by John Hill, the Director of Gas Engineering. The workshop is scheduled to adjourn on Tuesday, January 31, at 11:30 a.m.
External Corrosion Prevention Best Practices Roundtable - January 31 - February 2, 2012
*Only open to participating members of the AGA Distribution Best Practices Program
The Best Practices Program roundtables are designed to provide in-depth discussions on company practices and procedures for the specific benchmarking topic. The roundtables will feature company presentations from top-performing companies (identified through the benchmarking data reports) as well as companies identified for having unique programs or practices (identified through the questionnaire response summaries).
The External Corrosion Prevention Best Practices Roundtable will be held January 31 – Feb 2, 2012 at Duke Energy’s Ohio Office, Cincinnati, Ohio and is scheduled to begin Tuesday, January 31, at 1:00 pm with the General Session. The General Session will include a welcome address by Jim Mehring, Duke Energy’s VP of Gas Operations followed by “best practices” company presentations on specific processes and practices that have contributed to their outstanding operational performance. In addition, you will also hear from companies with unique practices that have helped to improve the company’s operational efficiency. Following the company presentations, meeting attendees will assemble with their respective breakout groups for in-depth group discussions on specific operational challenges and identify best practices to address those challenges. The roundtable will conclude with a best practices summary presentation from each breakout group. The meeting is scheduled to adjourn on Thursday, February 2, at 11:30 a.m.
