As its first topic under the new Gas Utility Operations Best Practices program, AGA is pleased to conduct a roundtable meeting on Quality Management in Gas Operations.
PHMSA and some state regulators have expressed increasing interest in developing a regulation focused on quality for all aspects of natural gas operations, which would have an impact in enhancing pipeline safety performance. AGA member companies have adopted some practices within various aspects of gas operations which address workmanship issues, particularly the oversight of employees and contractors. Participants will hear how some companies have approached Quality Management in areas such as leak survey, locating and marking, construction, materials supply chain, and leak management. Facilitated groups discussions will enable participants to exchange company practices that are designed to integrate quality into the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas.
