Building Energy Codes & Standards (BECS) Committee Meeting
October 05 — 07, 2010
Savannah, Georgia
The Building Energy Codes and Standards (BECS) Committee represents the interests of the gas industry in the national codes and standards process of model codes groups, technical standards organizations and federal agencies, to promote the continued use and marketability of natural gas downstream of the meter. Codes and standards have a significant impact on gas equipment installation costs, competition between gas and other energy sources and systems, and the introduction of new technologically advanced equipment. Reasonable and technically sound codes and standards are essential in promoting the safe and efficient utilization of gas equipment and accessories, and in paving the way for new gas technology that might otherwise meet with code-official resistance.
