Welcome to the home page for the 32nd Annual AGA Legal Forum.
The AGA Legal Forum is an intensive two-day seminar that gives participants the opportunity for in-depth discussion of gas industry issues with other member company general counsel and senior attorneys. The Thirty-First Annual Legal Forum will focus on the impact of the changes taking place in the industry and the new legal challenges facing you and your clients.
The Forum will feature presentations and panel discussions on topics of vital interest to natural gas industry attorneys. As you know, the Forum also provides a unique opportunity for informal discussions with other gas industry general counsel and attorneys.
The following topics are scheduled for discussion at this year’s Legal Forum:
- Keynote Address: A View from FERC by FERC Commissioner Marc Spitzer
- FERC Compliance Issues: A panel presentation providing insight into FERC’s current enforcement activities and compliance issues
- Climate Change at the Federal and Local Level: A discussion of emerging climate change initiatives at the Federal level including EPA actions and pending bills along with a discussion of climate and carbon issues in the Northeast
- LDC General Liability Issues Focusing on Recent Cases
- Labor Law Changes in 2009 and Beyond Under the New Congress
- Consumer and Commercial Accounts In a Stressed Economy: A discussion of credit strategies prior to and during customer bankruptcy and collecting on consumer accounts
- FASB 5/141 and Related Disclosure Requirements
- Other Topics of Interest to LDC General Counsel and Other Industry Attorneys
The Forum will be held July 19-21, 2009 at the InterContinental Boston, which is approximately ten minutes from Boston Logan International Airport. Located on Boston's historic and newly redefined Waterfront, InterContinental Boston is surrounded by Boston Harbor on one side and the new Rose Kennedy Greenway on the other. Its prime location places it just steps away from renowned Boston attractions, including Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, the North End, Chinatown, Beacon Hill and a plethora of historical attractions such as the Boston Tea Party Ship Site and Freedom Trail.
