AGA Utility Contractor Safety Workshop July '08

July 09 — 10, 2008
San Antonio,Texas

Hyatt Regency San Antonio

As utilities and pipeline operators rely on contractors to perform more of their construction and maintenance work, they are being confronted with the challenge of developing a plan to address contractor safety for those who are performing work on their systems.

Combination utilities have the added challenge of developing a plan to account for both gas and electrical contractors.

AGA's Board Safety Committee has already identified contractor safety as one of the primary aspects of safety that must be considered, in order to enhance safety in the gas industry.

The workshop will feature guest presentations from companies who have made progress in developing a contractor safety program.  It will also include presentations which focus on the legal aspects of this issue.  Perspectives from both utility and pipeline contractors will also be shared during the workshop.

Who should attend?

  • Safety Managers
  • Individuals involved in contract administration
  • Lawyers
  • Contractors for utilities or pipeline operators

The program is open to all AGA members and contractors invited by an AGA full or limited member.
