The 2008 Distribution Best Practices Program Orientation and Kickoff Meeting will take place January 14-17, 2008, at the Hyatt Mission Bay Spa & Marina Hotel in San Diego, CA.
The AGA Distribution Best Practices Orientation and Kickoff Meeting is for AGA member gas utilities that are current and prospective members of the AGA Distribution Best Practices Program. Meeting participants will review and finalize the 2008 benchmarking data packets: 1) Company Profile, 2) System Reliability, 3) Damage Prevention and Marking & Locating, 4) Employee Safety and 5) Emergency Response. More than 70 natural gas distribution companies participate in this customized program to exchange information and best practices that will be presented at topic-specific roundtables scheduled during the year.
Scheduled activities for the Orientation and Kickoff Meeting include:
- Best Practices Implementation Workshop, January 14, 2008, 1-5 PM
This workshop will feature companies that participated in the Distribution Best Practices Program in the past and have demonstrated significant improvement in one or more of the 2008 benchmarking topics, as well as companies that implemented a best practice which resulted in improvements in operational performance. Each company will provide an overview of how the Best Practices Program was utilized, alongside other processes, to improve operational performance.
- BESS (Best Practices Electronic Survey System) Workshop, January 15, 2008, 8AM – 12PM
This is a hands-on workshop that will allow meeting participants to become more familiar with AGA’s data collection and reporting tool for the Best Practices Program. Meeting attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops so they can participate in the demonstration.
- Kickoff Meeting, January 15-17, 2008, Tues. PM-Thurs. AM
Meeting participants will review and finalize the 2008 benchmarking data packets: 1) Company Profile, 2) System Reliability, 3) Damage Prevention and Marking & Locating, 4) Employee Safety and 5) Emergency Response.
