Thank you for joining us at the American Natural Gas & Propane Industries Exhibit at this year’s IBS. We hope that you had an opportunity to meet with representatives from industry partners who are enabling building professionals to bring efficient, high-performance gas solutions to today’s homes. For those of you who were not able to attend, here are a few highlights from this year’s show. We look forward to seeing you next year.

Cool Feat: Comfort in the Desert

For The New American Home 2013, a stunning, 9,000-plus-square-foot custom home at the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, builder Tyler Jones and his design-build team at Blue Heron turned to a space-, cost-, and energy-efficient natural gas–powered technology to satisfy the home’s challenging heating and cooling needs.

Building Efficient Homes with Natural Gas Appliances
Builder Mark Bethel’s energy-saving strategy for his Energy Star–rated homes utilizes an upgraded window package and thermal envelope, as well as high-efficiency appliances for natural gas space heating, water heating, and cooking.

Natural Gas: A Long-Term Home Energy Solution
It’s no secret among building pros that many customers prefer the “quality of life” advantages of appliances and heating equipment fueled by natural gas. But what’s becoming increasingly apparent to builders such as Meritage Homes is the promise of natural gas as an abundant, homegrown fuel that can meet their homes’ energy needs well into the future.

Cut Home Utility Bills with Micro-CHP
An emerging natural gas–fueled technology called micro-CHP, or combined heat and power, has the potential to significantly reduce operating costs for homes where it’s installed, and manufacturers are developing units for a wider range of home sizes.
