AGA Recognizes Awards of Merit Recipients
Washington, DC — The American Gas Association (AGA) recently honored 59 member company recipients with the prestigious Awards of Merit. The Awards of Merit, based on a cumulative point system, are awarded to individuals for their active and continuous service to the AGA Operating Section through participation on technical committees, as well as participation in AGA events.
“We are honored to recognize these individuals for the significant contributions they have made to the natural gas industry,” said David Parker, AGA president and CEO. “These folks are leaders in the industry and we congratulate and thank all of them for their hard work and dedication.”

The American Gas Association, founded in 1918, represents 195 local energy companies that deliver clean natural gas throughout the United States. There are more than 70 million residential, commercial and industrial natural gas customers in the U.S., of which 91 percent — more than 64 million customers — receive their gas from AGA members. Today, natural gas meets almost one-fourth of the United States' energy needs.
