55 Energy Companies that Deliver Natural Gas Recognized for Excellence in Accident Prevention

Phoenix, Ariz. —   The American Gas Association (AGA), representing the nation’s gas utilities, today recognized 55 of its member companies for their significant achievement in the area of accident prevention and workplace safety. The awards were presented at the AGA 2008 Operations Conference.

The following companies earned Accident Prevention Certificates for 2007 by achieving a total Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rate of injuries and illnesses below the industry average for their company size.

"We commend all of the winners for these remarkable accomplishments," said AGA President and CEO David N. Parker. "Safety is the natural gas utilities top priority, so AGA is proud to honor companies who are leading the way in the crucial area of accident prevention and workplace safety."

Today, natural gas meets almost one-fourth of the United States' energy needs.
