Washington, DC – The American Gas Association (AGA) applauds Representative Mike Ross (D-AR) for his introduction of the “American-Made Energy Act of 2008.” This important legislation will increase the production of domestic fuel sources (this includes natural gas, coal, nuclear power), promote the development of biofuels, support alternative/renewable electricity, and increase energy efficiency.
“Rep. Ross clearly understands that we need legislation like this to move us one step closer to sound, comprehensive energy policy for our nation. He recognizes the importance of ensuring America’s energy security, economic growth and environmental well-being,” said AGA President and CEO David Parker.
“This proposed legislation goes a long way to provide important, new provisions for all energy sources for a diverse, comprehensive energy mix. AGA looks forward to working with Rep. Ross and Congress as they consider this legislation. Natural gas is expected to play a major role in new climate change policies, making increased access to natural gas supplies a priority in order to meet the country’s growing clean energy demands.”
