AGA’s Dave Parker Awarded with ASAE & The Center’s Key Award

Washington, DC — The American Gas Association (AGA) is pleased to announce that on Saturday, August 21, 2010, AGA President and CEO Dave Parker was presented with the Key Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and The Center. The Key Award honors an association CEO who demonstrates exceptional qualities of leadership in his or her own association, and displays a deep commitment to voluntary membership organizations as a whole.

“It is a great honor to receive ASAE’s Key Award,” Parker said. “With four months left before I begin the next chapter of my life, it seems appropriate to reflect on my time at AGA and, simply put, it has been a wonderful 13 years. I am extremely proud of all that the AGA team has accomplished. When I became president in 1997 I pledged that we would raise our voice, increase our visibility and provide outstanding value to the membership, and I believe we have succeeded in all three of those goals. On Capitol Hill and at the agencies that regulate our industry, AGA is considered an honest broker, a reliable partner and a knowledgeable source of information on all issues of importance to the natural gas utility. The dedication and commitment of the entire AGA leadership to this association has been the real key to our success. I have enjoyed working with the talented staff at AGA and every one of our members.”

Parker received the award at ASAE and The Center’s Annual Meeting and Exposition in Los Angeles, CA.
