The companies we honor today have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure their customers and their employees are safe and healthy
New Orleans, LA — The American Gas Association (AGA) today recognized 12 of its member companies for achieving outstanding records of employee safety in 2009. The Safety Achievement Award, presented at AGA’s 2010 Operations Conference, was given to companies that achieved the lowest “DART” incident rate — a mathematical calculation that describes the number of recordable injuries and illnesses per 100 full-time employees that resulted in days away from work or restricted work activity.
Additionally, seven other AGA member companies earned the Vehicle Safety Achievement Award by experiencing the lowest motor vehicle accident rate for companies of their type.
“The companies we honor today have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure their customers and their employees are safe and healthy,” said David Parker, AGA president and CEO. “AGA takes pride in representing and recognizing these conscientious organizations.”
