This premier event will shine a spotlight on the global shale gas supply and its potential as a valuable energy commodity
Washington, DC – The American Gas Association (AGA) today is pleased to announce that the World Shale Gas Summit, a strategic conference and technical exhibition revolving around new discoveries of shale gas, will be held November 3-5 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in the Dallas, TX metro area. The event will bring together global energy stakeholders for robust discussions on the financial, commercial and regulatory aspects of shale production worldwide.
Evidence suggests that shale gas is and increasingly will be a global “game changer.” Recent supply measurements have revealed that shale gas is available in abundant quantities throughout the world. Notably, in June 2009 the United States had 1,836 tcf of recoverable natural reserves, up from 1,321 tcf in 2007, and of the new total, 33 percent is shale gas.
Organized by the CWC Group and hosted by AGA and the International Gas Union (IGU), the World Shale Gas Summit will bring together the entire value chain ranging from resource holders, governments and regulators to operators, technology companies and pipeline and distribution companies from around the world to share knowledge, form partnerships and promote the emergence of shale gas. Continents and countries represented include North America, Europe, Argentina, South Africa, India and China.
This premier event will shine a spotlight on the global shale gas supply and its potential as a valuable energy commodity. For information on exhibiting at or registering for the World Shale Gas Summit, please visit www.worldshalegas.org.
