Washington, D.C. – American Gas Association (AGA) President and CEO, Dave McCurdy, today released the following statement regarding Governor Romney’s Energy Plan:
“A conversation about energy is a discussion about the future of our nation. It affects the bottom line of every home and business and plays a pivotal role on our national security and the protection of our environment. This is the discussion we must have in this election and I am glad to see Governor Romney put forth an energy plan.
“We were encouraged to hear that Governor Romney’s plan would streamline the processes to help enable continued responsible production and delivery of natural gas—this is a key component of a responsible energy future.”
“Our nation’s abundance of clean natural gas has made it an affordable and efficient way to heat our homes, run our vehicles, generate power and support other forms of renewable energy. The natural gas industry employs people in all 50 states and the affordable energy it provides has already begun to revitalize our manufacturing sector.
“A plan that establishes natural gas as a foundation fuel and promotes greater use of this clean energy source will boost our economy and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. I look forward to a continued discussion with both parties about the important role natural gas will play in our nation’s energy future.”
