 AGA Recognizes Industry Safety Leaders

Twenty-four companies Receive Safety Achievement Awards

Washington, D.C. – The American Gas Association (AGA) today recognized a number of natural gas utilities and transmission companies at its Annual Operations Conference for achieving outstanding performance in worker safety for 2013. Safety is the number one priority for the natural gas industry. AGA is committed to promoting a culture of safety among its more than 200 member companies and their employees to build on the industry’s long history of safely and reliably delivering the nation’s most efficient, abundant, clean energy source to homes and businesses.

“The men and women who operate America’s natural gas delivery systems are the reason our customers are able to count on the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to fuel their daily needs,” said AGA President and CEO Dave McCurdy. “As we work to achieve the highest possible level of service for customers, we are also focused on the safety of our workers. Protecting the well-being of this skilled and dedicated workforce is essential to ensuring Americans can access the economic and environmental benefits of natural gas for decades to come. I applaud our award recipients and congratulate them for their strong safety record.”
