AGA Comments on EPA's Proposed One Year SPCC Extension (July 7, 2004)

On July 7, 2004 AGA submitted comments on EPA’s proposed rule, “Oil Pollution Prevention and Response; Non-Transportation-Related Onshore and Offshore Facilities”.  AGA's comments strongly support an extension of the deadlines for the SPCC rule.  AGA urges EPA to extend the deadlines under the 2002 SPCC rule until two years after EPA completes its work on guidance and rulemaking.  In addition, AGA supports USWAG’s comments on the proposed SPCC deadline extension and asks EPA to clarify that the SPCC regulations for “non-transportation” facilities do not apply to natural gas transportation facilities regulated by the Department of Transportation, Office of Pipeline Safety.
