On November 27, 2006 AGA submitted comments to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regarding the Chicago District proposal to revoke NWPs 3, 12, 14, and 33. The comments noted that AGA member companies that operate in the Chicago District are directly affected by the District’s proposal, because but for the District’s policy, they would be able to use nationwide permits (NWP) to obtain streamlined approvals for gas pipe installation and maintenance projects. AGA urged the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to reconsider this policy and to instead allow the use of these NWPs for natural gas pipeline and gas utility line maintenance and installation.
