Scope
The AGA Climate Change Task Force was formed in recognition of the fact that some form of legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions – either federal, state, regional, or all of the above – is a virtual certainty. Further, there is a recognition that natural gas can play a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions but that any legislation will have profound impacts on energy usage in general, and natural gas usage in particular.
The task force will analyze legislative proposals and prospects in an attempt to identify and promote those approaches to climate change mitigation that are most beneficial to natural gas consumers, natural gas utilities and the environment.
