AGA Applauds Passage Of Bipartisan House Pipeline Safety Bill

Washington, D.C. - The American Gas Association (AGA) today applauded the U.S. House of Representatives for the passage of H.R. 2845, the Pipeline Safety, Regulatory Certainty, and Job Creation Act of 2011.

AGA and our 201 member companies are extremely pleased with the passage of this critically important bill, said Dave McCurdy, president and CEO of AGA. It is a bipartisan measure that benefits us all. Safety has always been and will remain our highest priority.

We are pleased that the sponsors and chief proponents of this legislation were able to secure a unanimous bipartisan vote. The endorsement of this bill brings us one step closer to reaching our ultimate goal, which is getting a final bill passed and on the desk for President Obama s signature this year, continued McCurdy. We hope to see the Senate move expeditiously and take this bill up for a vote this week.
