On June 19, 2006 Utility Solid Waste Activities Group (USWAG) submitted comments on EPA’s notice of data availability (“NODA”) and request for comment on “Hazardous Waste Management System: Modification of the Hazardous Waste Manifest System” proposing various elements of an electronic hazardous waste manifest system. The comments supported the development of an electronic manifest system that would provide hazardous waste generators with the option of using electronic manifests as replacements for paper manifest forms. However, USWAG emphasized that the use of electronic manifests in lieu of hard copy paper forms be at the option of hazardous waste generators becayse the use of an electronic manifest may not be suitable for many generators.
