During a January 19, 2004 EPA requested requested additional information and data regarding natural gas pipeline and distribution system equipment that AGA members use to transport natural gas. Specifically, EPA requested information on the following: 1. Detailed descriptions of facilities used to transport natural gas that may use or store oil (such as lubricating oil or pipeline condensates); 2. Drawings and diagrams illustrating where to find the line between exempt transportation vs. non-transportation equipment; 3. Definitions of the exempt equipment (e.g. compressor, scrubber); and 4. The history of oil discharges to navigable waters from natural gas pipelines, distribution lines, compressor stations, and associated equipment. On February 27 AGA sent a letter and attachments to address this data request.
The letter and attachments are posted under the Environmental Comments section and can be accessed by clicking here.
