AGA Comments on EPA's Air Emissions Standards for the Natural Gas Sector (Nov. 30, 2011)

On November 30, 2011, AGA filed comments on EPA's proposed new source performance standards (NSPS) for the natural gas sector. AGA’s Comments:
  • Support the proposal to require green well completions for shale gas well completions, where feasible.
  • Ask EPA to correct its estimated greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) data for the natural gas value chain in EPA's next annual GHG Inventory to reflect the fact that many producers are already using green well completion technology to reduce methane emissions.
  • Ask EPA to clarify that facilities downstream of production and processing are exempt from the proposed NSPS.
