AGA Comments to the OMB Interagency Steering Group under Executive Order 13604 – Modernizing Natural Gas Permitting (July 31, 2013)

The  American  Gas  Association filed comments with the OMB Committee (Committee) implementing Executive Order No. 13604 (EO 13604), identifying opportunities for the modernization of key federal regulations, policies and procedures that will reduce the aggregate project review and permitting timelines for natural gas delivery infrastructure projects, while improving environmental and community outcomes from these projects.  AGA believes that that the Steering Group’s work to identify and prioritize permitting challenges and methods to implement best practices in a Modernization Plan, will provide much-needed direction for federal agency  leadership to produce significant cutbacks to the timelines under which federal, state, local and tribal governments complete reviews and permit approvals for natural gas projects. AGA continues to work with federal agency leadership and stakeholders to achieve real progress in modernizing federal permitting and review processes for natural gas utility projects.
