AGA Letter to CEQ Supports PGE Comments on Streamlining Federal and California Environmental Review Process (April 19, 2013)

On April 19, 2013, AGA filed a letter with the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) supporting Pacific Gas & Electric (PGE) comments on a draft NEPA-CEQA Handbook that is intended to help streamline and coordinate California state and federal environmental reviews of projects in California.   PGE thanks CEQ for attempting to improve the process but notes that one cannot assume that simply calling for combined documents will necessarily help eliminate unnecessary layers of review and project delays.  PGE suggests doing more to clarify and better coordinate the process and to explain how the differences between the federal and California environmental review programs can be reconciled.
