This week the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the 2007 Interior and Environment Appropriations bill. It contains an amendment by Rep. John Peterson that will exempt natural gas from the 25-year-old restrictions on the Department of the Interior’s ability to conduct oil and gas leasing activities on most of our nation’s Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). The bill, as amended, will lift restrictions only on natural gas; leasing and drilling restrictions remain on for oil.
Take action TODAY by sending an email to your legislator in support of allowing access to OCS natural gas supplies.
