On April 1, 2011 AGA submitted comments to contribute to DOT's review of existing regulations for continued validity and effectiveness. AGA strongly urged DOT to quickly incorporate by reference the latest version of ASTM D2513‐09a Standard Specification for Polyethylene (PE) Gas Pressure Pipe, Tubing, and Fittings into 49 CFR 192. Other issues that were addressed include the following: leak survey and atmospheric corrosion inspection timelines synchronization, raising the monetary threshold for the definition of reportable incidents, addressing the overlap of "continuing surveillance" and integrity management requirements and eliminating the overlapping 6 month welder qualification requirements.
