 Communications Spectrum

AGA is a member of the Utilities Telecom Council (UTC), a trade association representing the broad communications interests of electric, gas, and water utilities; natural gas pipelines; other critical infrastructure entities and other industry stakeholders. UTC has been actively engaged in the issue of preserving existing spectrum and reserving new broadband spectrum for wireless communications of utilities. This is of particular importance in times of emergency response communications. Spectrum has been a matter of debate for quite some time among Congress, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), utilities, Public Safety operations, and commercial carriers. The following resources are provided to educate the operator on the significance of this issue.
