Regulatory Policy Analyst, OGC

The American Gas Association is seeking a Regulatory Policy Analyst to join our Office of General Counsel.

As a member of AGA’s Office of General Counsel, the Regulatory Policy Analyst will provide support to AGA’s team of attorneys on a wide range of environmental law, policy, and regulatory matters. The Regulatory Policy Analyst will play an integral role in drafting summaries and analyses to keep members informed of litigation, regulatory and legislative developments affecting natural gas utilities, as well as committee support, and meetings and conference preparations.

A successful candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills in order to effectively and efficiently draft summaries of regulatory issuances for members, respond to member inquiries, and contribute to the drafting of comments in agency proceedings and work collaboratively with the attorneys in the office and other members of the AGA team. A desire to live and work from the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area is critical for this role.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and three professional references with their application.

AGA employees currently have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely. The employee’s team determines one day each week, and the employee determines the others. The American Gas Association requires all staff to pass a background check, sign an arbitration agreement, and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment.

The American Gas Association, founded in 1918, represents more than 200 local energy companies that deliver clean natural gas throughout the United States. There are more than 76 million residential, commercial and industrial natural gas customers in the U.S., of which 95 percent — more than 72 million customers — receive their gas from AGA members. Today, natural gas meets more than thirty percent of the United States' energy needs.
