About the Job:

What you will do:

What you will bring:

• At least 3 years in energy-related activities, preferably with trade association experience.
• Knowledge of natural gas utilities, gas end-use technologies, and current and future decarbonization solutions.
• Proficiency in data collection, interpretation, and dissemination related to energy and policy and the ability to translate data and complex analysis into an actionable roadmap.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, statistics, business, public policy, or related field.

Manager, Safety, Operations and Engineering

Manager, Security

About the Job:

The Security Manager provides membership outreach and engagement, supporting the execution of AGA programs and initiatives as they relate to increasing the physical and cyber security of our member’s critical energy infrastructure. This includes logistical support for virtual and in-person meetings and workshops, developing and managing agendas for events, leading committee projects from start to finish, and serving as an ambassador of AGA, its members, and the natural gas industry. A background in energy security policy and high-level understanding of cyber and physical security of natural gas infrastructure are beneficial for this role.

What you will do:

• Assist with the execution of AGA cyber and physical security programs and initiatives through data collection, analyses, and information dissemination to AGA’s membership.
• Support AGA’s Security Program by capturing metrics, facilitating focus groups, and assisting development and facilitation of the AGA Cyber and Physical Security Focus Groups, and the biennial AGA Natural Gas Exercise (NGX).
• Organize, conduct, and facilitate workshops, conferences, roundtables, webinars, and teleconferences from start to finish.
• Assist with planning, implementation, and facilitation of meetings, roundtables, and the joint AGA/EEI Security Conference; independently developing and executing membership-driven committee projects and workshops; soliciting volunteers; and creating and managing production timelines from start through completion.
• Support the staff executive and work of the AGA Cybersecurity Strategy and Regulatory Action Committee, focusing on energy security policy.
• Maintain AGA security webpages.
• Generate ideas to meet AGA strategic security management objectives, including managing projects within established budgets and timetables, and recognizing and implementing opportunities to generate revenue.
• Represent AGA in government, industry, and other stakeholder technical conferences/workshops, meetings, and other venues with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations in public and industry forums and communicate technical issues (in particular, cybersecurity issues), both orally and in writing, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Provide support for AGA initiatives, such as technical publications, compiling and adjudicating member company comments in response to government requests, and promoting security initiatives with the ability to collaboratively work on multi-disciplinary teams and integrate diverse opinions into consensus positions.

Market & Regulatory Analyst

The American Gas Association is seeking a Market and Regulatory Analyst to join our Energy Markets team. 

The Market and Regulatory Analyst will support the development of analytical products and policy insights to identify high-impact gas utility, energy market, and regulatory insights and solutions. As part of the Energy Markets, Analysis, and Standards team, the individual will evaluate, inform, and communicate key issues related to natural gas market fundamentals and gas utility regulatory policy initiatives, including but not limited to gas purchasing, energy efficiency, rates, emerging fuels, emissions, and markets.

What you will do:

  • Serve as energy market and regulatory analyst.
  • Develop analyses and insights that address the critical role of local gas utilities in advancing economic and environmental goals.
  • Prepare rate and regulatory analyses, policy briefs, white papers, and studies focused on local gas utility issues, domestic and global energy markets, and the economy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with AGA members, industry associations, the business community, academics, consultants, professional societies, and other energy economics and analysis stakeholders.
  • Assist with energy and economic modeling and analysis.
  • Provide thought leadership and analysis on state utility regulatory matters.

What you will bring to AGA:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Effective rhetorical and written communication skills, with a particular interest in learning to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences, from non-technical to industry experts.
