On February 3, 2016, AGA provided EPA with comments on the Agency’s proposal to incorporate new data on natural gas emissions from the natural gas storage and transmission segments into EPA’s Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks (GHGI). AGA supported EPA’s proposal to incorporate data from recent studies, but encouraged EPA to move forward on incorporating the data industry is reporting to EPA through the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.
AGA submitted comments in January 2016 expressing serious concerns regarding the non-transparent process and lack of knowledgeable, representative industry input in the development of a draft gas utility infrastructure standard proposed by the unofficial Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
On January 21, AGA filed comments on EPA’s Proposed Clean Power Plan (CPP) Model Trading Rules and Federal Plan. AGA encouraged EPA to craft the Federal Plan and Model Trading Rules to make it clear that natural gas direct use, combined heat and power, and waste heat and power are available options for achieving compliance.
