American Gas Association Launches New Twitter Handle
Follow @AGA_naturalgas to Learn About AGA and its More Than 200 Member Utilities
Washington, D.C. – This nation’s abundance of natural gas has changed the conversation about our energy future and America’s natural gas utilities are a leading voice about how greater use of this clean energy source can help us achieve our national goals. The American Gas Association (AGA) today launched the new Twitter handle @AGA_naturalgas and will continue to tweet about how the association and its member utilities are delivering the promises of natural gas to more than 177 million Americans.
“The conversation about energy is a discussion about the future of our nation. Social media is a big part of our comprehensive strategy to lead a fact-based dialogue and help educate the public about the benefits of natural gas,” said AGA President & CEO Dave McCurdy. “Our social media pages help reach a broader audience and help shape the conversation about energy.”
Current followers of AGA’s former Twitter handle @naturalgasflk have been automatically transferred to @AGA_naturalgas and will not have to make any changes to their account. Followers will continue to receive tweets they’ve come to expect, including news about AGA’s member utilities, energy renewables and natural gas vehicles.
AGA livetweets the monthly Natural Gas Roundtable luncheons using hashtag #NGR, as well as various energy and social media events in Washington, D.C. and around the globe. During the 2012 Presidential Election the #VoteNatGas campaign drew attention to the benefits of natural gas and the role it can play in boosting our economy, improving our environment and increasing our energy security.
This January, AGA will be live tweeting from the 2013 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, NV. AGA will be part of the American Natural Gas and Propane Industries exhibit January 22 through 24 and will be posting daily blogs, photos and videos of new natural gas appliances, and details on special giveaways for show patrons.
