The Homes of the Future Will Run on Natural Gas
International Builders’ Show to Feature Natural Gas Technology of Tomorrow
Las Vegas, NV – Homes of the future will increasingly use clean natural gas efficiently and effectively to continue to bring the benefits of this domestic fuel to millions of Americans every day. The International Builders’ Show, the largest annual light construction show in the world, taking place now in Las Vegas, features cutting-edge technologies that enable consumers to take advantage of the benefits of our domestic abundance of natural gas. The American Natural Gas and Propane Industries exhibit, run by AGA, will bring together natural gas utilities from throughout the country with companies creating the residential natural gas technologies of today and tomorrow.
The 2013 New American Home, constructed by custom builder Blue Heron, showcases a large array of natural gas features and appliances, from energy saving, high-efficiency gas heat pumps for heating and cooling, to ultra-sleek indoor and outdoor fire features for comfort and ambience. The outdoor rooms are fully equipped with natural gas appliances for entertaining and relaxing. The home also features a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling appliance supplied by Southwest Gas, which delivers a convenient, on-site way to refuel CNG vehicles using the home’s existing natural gas supply line. The efficiency created by using natural gas is just one of the countless ways this home reduces its carbon footprint. The New American Home is expected to receive a number of energy and environmental awards and certifications.

This is the 67th year that AGA gas been involved in this annual event hosted by the National Association of Homebuilders. Natural gas is used by over 177 million Americans and is the dominant source of energy for heat, hot water and cooking in homes and businesses in this country. America’s natural gas utilities deliver natural gas efficiently and reliably across more than 2.4 million miles of pipelines – the safest energy delivery network in the nation.
The American Natural Gas and Propane Industries exhibit will include the following manufacturers: Bradford White, BSH (BOSCH/Thermador), Copper Sculptures, Five Star, HOUZE: The Power of Zero, Lennox, Marathon Engine Systems, Navien, Rinnai,Robert H. Peterson Company and Yanmar. AGA member company participants include: AGL Resources, Atmos Energy Corporation,CenterPoint Energy, DTE Energy, Florida Public Utilities, Laclede Gas Company, Piedmont Natural Gas, Southwest Gas Corporation,TECO Energy and UGI Utilities, Inc. The Propane Education & Research Council, the American Public Gas Association, the Energy Solutions Center and the Southern Gas Association also participated in the booth.
