Comments Support Streamlining Endangered Species Act Regulations to Protect Species More Effectively
On Sept. 24, 2018, AGA signed onto the Cross-Industry Coalition comments filed in response to three proposed rules of the Department of the Interior (DOI) U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the National Marine Fisheries Service to amend and streamline their Endangered Species Act (ESA) regulations. The comments emphasize our commitment to environmental stewardship and explain that the changes we support will help make the endangered species review process more efficient, which will help free-up resources at both companies and the Services to focus on actions that have a more effective and meaningful benefit for habitat and species. The Cross-Industry Coalition includes: AGA, the Utility Water Act Group (UWAG), Association of Oil Pipe Lines (AOPL), American Petroleum Institute (API), International Association of Geophysical Contractors (IAGC), Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).
