The American Gas Association (AGA) is committed to being a powerful and effective voice for the natural gas utility industry in Washington D.C. Advocacy has always been important to our industry, but given the changes taking place in the energy industry, the economy and the government, having an even stronger voice is now an absolute necessity. It is AGA’s mission to support legislation and regulations that will benefit our member companies and our industry, and prevent government actions that could do harm. The most important tool we have to accomplish this mission is to elect pro-industry lawmakers.

GASPAC’s mission is to support the election of candidates who support the natural gas industry and the legislative priorities of AGA members. Corporations are banned from giving even a dollar to the campaigns of candidates for federal office. If GASPAC is to meet its political potential, it will be because gas company executives and employees like you are willing to financially support its efforts.

GASPAC does not accept contributions from persons outside of its restricted class or from corporate member restricted class employees from whom AGA has not received prior approval in writing to solicit in the current calendar year.

Participation in GASPAC is voluntary; you have the right to refuse to participate without fear of reprisal. The guidelines for contributing are merely suggestions. You may contribute more or less then the guidelines or nothing at all and you will not be favored or disadvantaged by reason of the amount of your contribution or your decision not to contribute. GASPAC may only accept personal contributions. Corporate contributions are prohibited. Contributions to GASPAC will be used in connection with state and federal elections and are subject to the prohibitions and limitations of the Federal Election Campaign Act. Contributions to GASPAC are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. You must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien (i.e., a Green Card holder residing in the U.S.) to make a contribution. Federal law requires GASPAC to make its best effort to report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contribution exceeds $200 in a calendar year.
