About AGA’s Physical Security Efforts
AGA advocates for reasonable and effective security policies and programs to help bolster federal government and industry partnerships as well as promote coordination among government agencies.
AGA is a primary resource for its members to stay abreast of Federal government security-related initiatives coming from these agencies. This effort requires close coordination with Federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Transportation Security Administration, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Department of Energy. AGA’s security initiatives and actions ensure that Federal policies and programs address the security concerns of natural gas utilities.
AGA is an active member of the Oil & Natural Gas Sector Coordinating Council (ONG SCC), contributing to the effective and productive public-private partnership of the ONG SCC and Federal government representatives. AGA is also active in security-related activities of other organizations, such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and sister energy trade associations.
All AGA full and limited members are encouraged to actively participate in the AGA Natural Gas Security Committee (NGSC).
