AGA Welcomes New Administration

Washington, D.C. – American Gas Association President and CEO Karen Harbert today welcomed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, saying:

“I want to extend my sincere congratulations to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The new Administration has a multitude of challenges to address in the coming days and months and America’s natural gas utilities are committed to working together to make progress towards getting our country back on track and addressing the challenge of climate change. As our nation faces a financial crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, natural gas will not only continue to provide an affordable energy option for the nearly 180 million Americans who rely upon it, but it will be essential for our nation and this Administration to achieve our shared emissions reductions and environmental goals.

“We have a long history of working collaboratively to find innovative solutions that benefit our nation, and we look forward to doing just that with President Biden and Vice President Harris. Natural gas utilities operate in communities all across the United States, delivering essential energy to families, frontline workers and 5.5 million businesses and we will continue to build consensus across political lines to do what is best for this country.”
