Lloyd Yates Elected 2nd Vice Chair of the American Gas Association 

Washington, DC – The American Gas Association Board of Directors has elected Lloyd Yates, NiSource President and CEO, as the 2nd Vice Chair of the American Gas Association for 2023. 

Before becoming CEO of NiSource, Yates held senior roles at Duke Energy Corporation, including Executive Vice President, Customer and Delivery Operations, and President, Carolinas Region. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in business administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He attended the Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and the Executive Management Program at the Harvard Business School. 

“Lloyd is an outstanding CEO and will bring the energy and talent that has characterized his career to AGA’s Board leadership,” said Karen Harbert, AGA President and CEO. “I look forward to working closely with Lloyd in this role and as he continues to provide value to our Board and the industry as a whole.” 

Yates also serves on the Board of Directors of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.

AGA’s other board officers for 2023 will include: Chair Suzanne Sitherwood, President and CEO of Spire Inc. based in St. Louis, MO and First Vice Chair Jerry Norcia, President and CEO of DTE Energy based in Detroit, MI.
