AGA Letter on Pipeline Safety Hearing, Energy and Commerce

The Natural Gas Readiness Forum recommended by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Gas-Electric Alignment for Reliability (GEAR) Working Group explores the reliability of the energy system and how the natural gas system prepares for the high demand periods. A series of regional meetings and an annual summit foster operational education, situational awareness, and peer-to-peer connections across the natural gas value chain and energy sector.

AGA comments posted to the docket in response to the PHMSA request for comments on the Direct Final Rule published July 1, 2025, entitled “Pipeline Safety: Clarifying Recordkeeping Requirements for Testing in MAOP Reconfirmation Regulation”. This regulation clarifies the applicability of the requirements for reconfirming the maximum allowable operating pressure of certain gas transmission pipelines.
