Environment

Natural gas is highly efficient and has a much smaller environmental impact than other energy sources.

Energy Efficiency

The U.S Department of Energy (DOE) website is a comprehensive guide to all forms of energy supply, demand and usage; it also features energy conservation tips.

DOE's Energy Information Administration website is a great resource for pricing and supply forecasts for all forms of home energy. Every month, EIA issues a short-term energy outlook with information about supply, demand and prices for natural gas, petroleum and electricity.

Environmental Benefits of Natural Gas

Background

Natural gas, the cleanest fossil fuel, is a highly efficient form of energy. It is composed chiefly of methane; the simple chemical composition of natural gas is a molecule of one carbon atom and four hydrogen atoms (CH4). When methane is burned completely, the principal products of combustion are carbon dioxide and water vapor.
