AGA Files Comments on Possible WRI Revisions to GHG Emissions Protocol
On March 14, 2023, AGA submitted comments in response to a series of World Resources Institute (WRI) surveys seeking initial stakeholder input on whether or how to revise the GHG Protocols and related guidance for reporting corporate scope 1 direct GHG emissions, scope 3 indirect corporate value chain emissions, and the use of market-based accounting, which affects our members’ interest in using existing gas infrastructure to deliver renewable natural gas (RNG), hydrogen, and lower methane-intensity natural gas supplies as pathways to achieving net zero goals.
