Response, Recovery, Restoration

In coordination with regional trade associations, AGA manages a voluntary, national mutual assistance program that facilitates the sharing of response/recovery/restoration resources among participating companies during natural and man-made disasters.

Participation is as easy as 1-2-3

  1. Review the National Mutual Assistance Agreement; sign; and submit to Mohamed Moussi at mmoussi@aga.org. Note, this is a non-binding agreement, which lays out the ground rules for Requesting and Responding Companies. The agreement establishes participating companies’ expectations in advance of the need for assistance.
  2. Go to the AGA Mutual Assistance Database, and submit the contact information for personnel from your company who should receive the Request for Assistance Form from other companies.
  3. In time of need, contact your regional trade association or refer to the searchable Mutual Assistance Database for Responding Companies that potentially meet your needs, and reach out to them with the Request for Assistance (RFA) form. After downloading the form, please refer to this presentation for instructions on how to fill out the Request for Assistance Form. The Request for Assistance Master Compile workbook helps those requesting assistance summarize responses and determine if support needs can be met.

National Mutual Assistance Database

The National Mutual Assistance Database hosts the contact information for companies participating in the National Mutual Aid Program. All aid requests should proceed directly to companies or through regional trade associations. If a requesting company is not a member of a regional trade association, they should contact AGA or APGA as appropriate.

Request for Assistance

In times of need, please contact your company’s regional trade association, or refer to the searchable Mutual Assistance Database for potential Responding Companies, and contact them with the Request for Assistance Form.

National Mutual Assistance Agreement

Participation the National Mutual Assistance Program is governed by the Mutual Assistance Agreement, a document describing the process for requesting, providing, and managing mutual aid.  Program participants are not obligated to respond to requests for aid.
